Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Med-Surg Adult Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shifts Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1-year relevant experience; new graduates considered based on position availability License: Current RN License with Multistate Compact privileges or appropriate state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC and ENPC preferred Must-Have: Ability to demonstrate age-specific competencies and excellent communication skills Job Description: - Responsible for the delivery of care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation - Effectively interact with patients, significant others, and healthcare team members while maintaining professional nursing standards - Utilize the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care - Teach patients/significant others health information in a timely manner and share written informational material - Perform direct patient care using established procedures, policies, and standards - Assist patients, family members, or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate courteously - Assist in the orientation/training of new employees - Support other staff in the performance of their assignments - Recognize staffing needs and volunteer to cover open shifts - Initiate actions for cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care - Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns - Participate fully in all risk management, quality management, and safety activities and investigations Please note that work involves daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood or other body fluids. Holiday coverage is required.
