  Estimated payment breakdown-$1462.00-$1542.00/wk*-$600.00-$680.00 in weekly taxable income-$15.00/hr-$17.00/hr*Estimate assumes an 8 hour shift. Hourly rate may change based on shift length.-$862.00 in non-taxable stipend*Actual amount subject to eligibility and seasonal/annual adjustmentsPTA needed for 13 weeks in a mixed hospital setting in Artesia, NM. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Providing skilled treatment of functional mobility motor function muscular strengthening sensation wounds ambulation balance social and environmental needs - Following an appropriate plan of care that includes measurable functional goals while considering patient's psychosocial cultural and spiritual needs - Providing clear documentation that meets APTA guidelines and billing for appropriate charges in a timely manner - Perform family/caregiver/patient education to increase independence upon discharge.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - May be required to work occasional weekendsKNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES: - Basic computer - Ability to efficiently schedule and perform patient care independentlyAGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.Information Management:Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management Quality Management and Safety Activities and Investigations.MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:-- Education: Graduate of nationally-accredited PTA program-- Work Experience: Greater than one year of experience preferred but new graduates welcomed to apply-- License/Certification:Must be eligible for current licensure with the New Mexico State Physical Therapy Board.
